Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who are you? - We are a website that allows members to order letters (or emails) that we send to homeowners/occupants asking them to basically clean up, fix, sanitize, (insert problem here) their home.

We let people know that other community members think they could do a better job regarding the appearance of their home or property surrounding their home. We are not realtors, agents, etc...Just a few people trying to clean up the junk in the neighborhood.

2. What is "Fed Up? Send 'em a Letter" - Upon your approval, we will send a safe, polite, and anonymous letter to a home that lets occupants know their neighbors are not happy with the way the home looks. If you know their e-mail address we will e-mail them as an alternative but personally, I think the letter will have a bigger impact. (view a sample letter) .

In addition, if desired, we will send a second letter 45-60 days after the first letter was sent just to make sure they get the message.

3. Why would I want to "Send a Letter?" - A lot of reasons really, maybe you see home that is in dire need of a paint job, maybe there is no landscaping, broken furniture in the yard, cars parked on the lawn, plastic tarp on the roof, basically, if you do not like the way a home looks and it bothers you, send a letter.

4. Who made you the authority on what homes look good and what homes look bad? - We are not trying to be the authority; we are just providing a service that lets people know their home does not look as good as the rest of the homes in their neighborhood, hopefully the letter will help the owners decide to clean up their house.

5. Why wouldn't I just tell the home owners on my own? - You can, but that does not mean you want to...Maybe you do not know them, don't like them, maybe they are even your friends. Point is we provide a safe alternative that gets the message through to the people who live there in a safe and anonymous manner.

6. Why did you start this website? - We started it because there are a few homes in my neighborhood that are in need of some drastic improvements. I personally got tired of looking at them every time I went to the store, work, etc. After talking with friends, we figured out that pretty much every community has a home or two that needs some improvements so why not have a service that lets the owners know how other residents feel? In the end, we all win. The community looks better overall and the home values go up due to the fact they are all in tip top shape. (view sample letter)

7. I had you send some letters but nothing happened! - Unlike you and me, not everyone cares about the biggest investment of their life enough to make it look as good as possible, even when you let them know it. You would think they would get the picture. I suggest you contact your local code enforcement and file a complaint with your city to escalate the problem.

8. How do I know you are really sending the letters like you say? - Well, when the ugly house on your block finally gets painted, we will take the credit. Kidding aside, for both legal and moral reasons we fulfill any and every order placed with us.

9. What is the goal of this site? - We look at it this way, if you can get the ugliest house on your block to improve its looks, then the next ugliest house to do the same, you should soon run out of ugly homes on your block. The good news is your block will look great; the bad news is your home might end up as the one getting a letter.

10. You guys are jerks, I did not deserve a letter! - You might be right about the first part but we are not the ones that thought you deserved a letter; someone in your neighborhood takes the credit there. Feel free to send us an e-mail if you have a problem with it, or, you could head up to Home Depot and start working on your house.

11. Is this legal? - Absolutely! We have confirmed that sending a letter to a homeowner asking them to evaluate the appearance of their home is perfectly legal.

12. Do you ever tell who sent a letter/e-mail to whom? - Absolutely not. There is no way someone will ever find out you sent them a letter or email
